Full-removal roof waterproofing reconstruction
A full-removal rebuild may be assessed when existing layers have failed, the substrate needs repair or drainage falls require correction.
Decision note
Full removal is more than stripping a surface and recoating it. The removal scope is defined first, followed by substrate, drainage and detail repairs, then a waterproofing and protection system suited to the site. Testing and reinstatement must be agreed before quotation.

Six stages from survey to handover

Survey and define the scope
Inspect existing layers, cracks, hollow areas, outlets, upstands, plinths and leakage evidence, then record what must be removed or retained.

Protect and phase the work
Plan work zones around building use and weather, protecting entrances, services, equipment and areas outside the contract scope.
Checkpoint: Confirm material access, waste removal and temporary weather protection.

Remove existing layers
Remove the waterproofing, screed or protection specified in the quotation and clear loose residue so the actual substrate can be assessed.
Checkpoint: Recheck concealed cracks, hollow areas and damage after exposure.

Repair substrate and drainage
Repair cracks, honeycombing and loose areas. Where included, address levels, falls and outlet details in line with the agreed proposal.
Checkpoint: Meet the selected system's strength, level and moisture requirements.

Rebuild waterproofing and details
Install the specified primer, waterproofing, protection or finish, with dedicated treatment at outlets, upstands, plinths and penetrations.
Checkpoint: Materials, thickness and application sequence follow the approved system.

Inspect, reinstate and hand over
Complete visual checks and suitable testing, reinstate finishes within scope, and compile photographs and handover records.
Checkpoint: Testing must suit the structure, drainage arrangement and site limits.
